Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown

The gym was a highlight, big and well equipped, just right for getting a workout in. My room at the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and modern amenities. The lobby felt welcoming too. They don't provide slippers, so bring comfortable shoes for lounging. It's a solid downtown Phoenix option, conveniently located with plenty of amenities.

There's a bit of street noise at night and housekeeping was pretty loud during the day, though I still got a decent night's sleep. The A/C was noisy but worked well, cooling or warming the room quickly, and an app for white noise could drown out the street sounds. The front desk team was professional, polite, and genuinely helpful, so check-in and checkout went smoothly. The location is right in central downtown Phoenix, an easy walk to the convention center, restaurants, shops, and a supermarket. The building also has a fun bit of history connected to the opening sequence of Psycho (1960), directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Comfortable and convenient overall, and I'd stay again if I needed to.

The restaurant crew was amazing, both at breakfast and on the rooftop. The rooms were great and fairly clean, and the cleaning staff were lovely. The front desk seemed nice, though a young woman told me at check-in that no Diamond upgrade suites were available. I checked online and saw some definitely were. After I got home, I noticed a $12 charge for waters in the room that I hadn't touched. A gentleman fixed it after I called. The location is great, within walking distance of downtown. I wouldn't use valet again: it costs $43 a day plus a $5.62 daily parking tax, so that's really $48.62. I'll stay again, but I'll keep an eye on the billing and self-park.

The rooftop bar was a great place to unwind after a day of training, and I made use of the gym too. The Hilton is within walking distance of a Diamond Backs or Phoenix Suns game. An excellent stay if you're downtown.
