Econo Lodge Picayune

We checked into the Econo Lodge Picayune for two reserved nights and arrived late the first evening. After an early start and a ball tournament the next day, we came back for night two. My wife flushed the toilet before bed and it overflowed onto the floor. At the front desk they called the owner, who told them to give me a bunch of towels to throw down and deal with it since I was leaving the next morning anyway. Not even an apology. I'll never go back to the Econo Lodge.

The owners are so kind, and they really go out of their way to make you feel like family. It's right off the interstate, with easy access to everything. Awesome place, highly recommend it. Couldn't ask for more!

I paid $255 for three nights, but had to leave after just one day. I didn't get a refund, and then three more charges appeared: $8.32, $30.12, and $85. When I showed him the bank transactions, he swore he hadn't charged me. I travel for work and live out of hotels much of the time, and this guy took my money and got mad when I brought it up. These people are absolute thieves and con artists. Go to the Super 8 at the next exit. I'd rather sleep in a tent than go back. The first week there had been fine. I paid for three more days before having to leave early.

The room was clean, had plenty of supplies, and the bed was comfortable. The frame made a lot of noise, but I got used to it quickly and thought it was thunder. Pillows were hard, so bring an extra if you like soft ones. There weren't water bottles or body soap, and the old hair dryer didn't work. The staff and owners were friendly and helpful. It's close to an I-20 intersection, Walmart, and several restaurants, so you can get what you need nearby. The parking lot felt pretty sketchy, though the hotel is by a main road with a fire department right behind it. The doors had good locks and the windows were thick, so I felt safe. Bring a few things from home and you can have a comfortable stay with few issues. For the price, it was a really good stay.
