They were really helpful after we checked out and realized we'd left something behind. They called us and were going to figure out how to get it back to us. We stayed in a cute cabin south of Avenue of the Giants, and the onsite restaurant had good food. The kids also had nice play facilities.

The staff were friendly, and the location is pretty. Those are the only reasons this gets two stars from me. We spent a couple of nights in the main cabin, not the campgrounds, and the noise from the people above us was unbearable. They had kids and guests over from other parts of the campground, with yelling and shoes being thrown out the window, and the parents didn't seem to care. They even left an active flame unattended while cooking in a place where everything is made of wood. Employees from the pub came out twice to tell them off, but it made no difference. There's no staff overnight, which is a problem. Staff found us another room for the next night, thankfully, though we were awake at 6 am anyway because of the people walking around above us. The floorboards creak so much that you'll wake whenever the people above you get up, and you can hear their TV and conversations too. The beds were horrible, much too soft. The bathrooms were clean, but the floors weren't. My socks were black after wearing them for just an hour before bed, as you can see in the picture. The area is so rural that there aren't competitive lodging options, and there's no service or internet anywhere.

While we were looking for a place for a family trip to the redwood forest, Redwoods River Resort helped us find several nearby campgrounds with cheaper rates. They even checked back afterward to see if we'd managed to get a spot. That sort of honest, above-and-beyond customer service is rare. It's why I'll recommend them to anyone planning a redwoods trip. Some of the best customer service I've experienced.

We had everything we needed in the firehouse cabin, where we stayed for a couple of nights. There were four adults, and two of us slept in the bunk beds without any problem. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was good value for the money. The location worked perfectly for visiting Avenue of the giants and the redwoods. Our stay here was perfect.

We stayed at campsite 2 and really enjoyed how peaceful and secluded it felt. Bring bug spray, though, because there were lots of mosquitoes at our site. The bathrooms were always clean and stocked, and the bar food was delicious and well worth the stay. The store came in handy too, it had the staple items we'd forgotten. The pool was great since we couldn't get down to the river with the baby's stroller, and the kids loved spending all day at the amazing playground. It really felt like a resort for the family. Hope to try one of the cabins next time.
