We had a large group, and the staff were great to work with, friendly, and accommodating. The rooms have been renovated, and there’s no gross carpet, which is good for anyone with possible allergies.

The staff were somewhat friendly, and the rooms were tiny, not very well insulated, and only kind of clean. The water pressure was terrible, and so was the parking lot. They were also doing construction on the third floor, and it’s kind of a bad area. Holiday Inn is MUCH better if you can afford it, so I don’t recommend this place. The main problem for my family was that we had a family emergency and had to leave suddenly. We told the front desk, but they still charged us because we hadn’t given 24 hours’ notice. This hotel requires that much notice for an early checkout and keeps your money even if you leave before noon. That felt unfair and crooked, since sometimes you can’t plan a day ahead. We were down a few hundred dollars that we needed to get home.

They called to say the room was canceled due to a “water leak.” I later heard from others who’d booked before that their reservations had also been canceled the same day because of “unexpected issues.” They suggested other places, but those were full too. Nobody offered anything for the trouble. I called five hotels before I got the last room at the My Place in Ft. Pierre, which was great. Since I’d booked almost two months ahead, I’m extremely skeptical there was really a water leak. I assume they overbooked and sold the room to someone at a higher price. I won’t try them again.

We were pleasantly surprised by how clean the rooms were and how good the service was for the reasonable price. The complimentary breakfast had lots of yummy choices, and my husband especially liked the blueberry muffins. Definitely recommend!
