Quality Inn Pierre - Fort Pierre

The location was easy to find and offered very easy access. Check-in was smooth and the staff were friendly. The room needs repairs and updating, though. Breakfast arrived on time, but the selection wasn’t very good.

The lobby is really cramped, and the pool was closed even though the sign said it was open. The location wasn’t great either, with much better hotels about a 10-minute walk away. Our room was pretty large, but the floor was a little dirty and the bathroom door was slightly broken. One guy spoke Indian and I could barely understand his English.

This isn’t a fancy place, but it worked well for our cross-country road trip. The things that mattered most were all AOK: AC, plumbing, hot soft water, quiet, comfort, enough electric outlets, and TV. We each travel with three devices that need charging. There’s no elevator, but stairs are still fine for us, and the train trestle behind the motel didn’t disturb our sleep. The parking lot is full of trades peoples' [sic] trucks, which says something about the value, comfort, and quality of this Quality Inn. The owners are super nice and happy to help with anything extra we needed.

The room was clean, with fresh, good-smelling linens and no bed bugs, and breakfast was good too. This was the cheapest place we could find in Pierre without bad reviews. The hotel is older, so there’s some expected wear and tear, and the pool isn’t the cleanest. What really made the stay good was the staff. Mitt and Smitt patiently helped straighten out a double booking caused by Expedia, and Mitt was especially kind to our kids, even when he was busy. Everyone was helpful, patient, and kind.
