Travelodge by Wyndham Pigeon Forge Dollywood Lane

The beds were so comfortable, and we didn't see any bugs. My only gripe was the blankets, which were incredibly thin, almost like tablecloths. Still, I'd stay again. The hotel matched the photos, was clean and updated, and had a perfect location, easy to get to and close to Dollywood.

A little noise after dark was expected since the place is on the main road. The room was clean and had towels stocked, and the front desk clerk was friendly. We did have two problems: the bed squeaked whenever we shifted position, and the tub wouldn't hold water for a bath.

I called a few days before arriving because my booking wasn't showing in the app and I wanted to confirm it, but no one answered on the occasions I tried. At check-in, I was told the card had to have a name matching my ID. I had recently married and was starting to update my information, and I've never had this issue at other hotels or Airbnbs down here. I couldn't find the policy on the site until I looked further after being told. I had also checked in through the link they sent, and entering my card gave no notice to use a different one. They'd already charged one night to that card before reversing it when I arrived. I was very upset and asked why they'd taken the money if the card wasn't accepted. The lady was rude to me, though I was rude too, and when I asked about the charge she told me I could “go find another place to stay if I had problems”. I could have handled my temper better, but I was frustrated that the charge had already gone through. I wish they'd caught the issue and told me before check-in. It wasn't a good experience, and I won't return. I've read other reviews mentioning someone being rude, and I felt bad about losing my temper, but it sounds like others have had similar experiences.

They've made these older hotels look brand new again through their partnership with Wyndham. I stayed at the sister property earlier this year, where a front desk woman recognized me because she works at both locations. I told her how much I love the nostalgia of these classic hotels. They've made them beautiful, and I'd gladly stay at either property again. They're clean, comfortable, and affordable.
