Comfort Inn Pikeville

Breakfast didn't impress me either. The eggs were sitting in water, and when the single pot of coffee ran out, nobody seemed in a hurry to make more. It felt like people ate it just to get some value out of the stay. For $225 a night, I expected a room that felt worth that price, and this one fell short. Sound carried clearly from the hall and adjoining rooms, especially when someone nearby turned on the shower. Broken things should be fixed or removed. I'm not paying by the hour, but the room had that kind of feel. I'm very disappointed in the hotel's quality, especially at this price.

The room was stuffy and smelled heavily of cigarettes when we arrived. There was a cigarette and a lighter on the floor. Our plans changed, so we didn't stay the night, and with that smell I'm not sure I could have managed it. I also saw what looked like a drug deal happening in the parking lot.

The room had plenty of space and a very comfortable bed, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my two-night stay and will definitely return.

We were four hours from home and two hours from the concert when we found out we had nowhere to stay. We ended up driving nearly an hour to another available hotel and paying more for rooms. The service was rude, and it was a very disappointing experience. I absolutely don't recommend this place. We'd booked two rooms more than a month earlier. New owners had taken over by the time we checked in and refused to honor our reservations, saying none had transferred to them.
