We couldn’t leave because the weather had made the roads too bad, so we had to stay. The first room had oatmeal all over and rat poop on the nightstand. In the second, the tub and mirrors were nasty, the towels were dirty, and the bedspreads had cigarette burns all over. The heater barely works, the trash can was filthy, and there’s a red stain on the bed that we hope is ink. We’re not happy.

We were stranded on a long trip, and this was the only motel for 20 miles. If it hadn’t been, I would’ve left as soon as I saw the room. The pictures don’t look like the real place. The showers were disgusting, and every room smelled like a dark, damp, musky basement. They didn’t seem to care how awful the rooms were. With 8 kids along, I would’ve slept in the car if I could.

The floors were filthy, there were dead bugs everywhere, and the bed smelled like dirty clothes and clearly had been used. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, and as soon as we walked in, it smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. There wasn’t a fridge, so we had to keep our son’s milk in ice buckets. He ended up touching one of the dead bugs.

I paid 113.00 plus tax, but ended up sleeping in my car because there were bed bugs. I caught one crawling toward my leg and have pictures of it and the poop. There were mice or rats too, I’m not sure which, and one used the restroom beside the microwave in my room. It’s sad when so many people are homeless in mount airy nc, and hardworking, decent citizens of Surry County keep running into problems like this. You finally save up for a hotel and end up facing what could be a COUPLE OF THOUSAND DOLLARS ISSUE. How does this place stay open without addressing the bed bug issue? Who inspects it, and how is it still open to the public? It isn’t hard to be a decent human being.
