Hidden Rest Cabins & Resort

The manager was super nice, and I’ll definitely stay here again if my travels bring me close. I’ve been tent camping for the last two weeks, so I really needed a break. I got lucky and found cabin 8 available on Monday, Memorial Day 2026, for a fair price. It’s cozy, with a spa, kitchen, and soft bed. There’s also a couch I’m having a hard time getting up from. You can barely hear traffic on 260 from inside.

Hidden Rest Cabins feels tucked away while still being in a good location in Pinetop-Lakeside. My husband and I stayed there over the weekend, and both the room and hot tub were clean and comfortable. The shower stall was a little small and there wasn’t a fridge, but neither bothered us much. We’re looking forward to staying again next time we’re in the area.

The cabin interiors were lovely, the bedding was soft, and the place was well appointed. I also liked the Christmas lights. Maybe the other cabins are quieter, but cabin 7 was down in a dip with the road almost level with the windows. The highway was only about 40 feet away, and the noise was constant, somewhere between a dishwasher and a vacuum depending on the time. I ended up hanging clothes and towels over the windows to muffle it. The 10-gallon water tank went cold after about six minutes. I checked in at 5:15, couldn’t figure out the heat, then locked myself out while taking the dogs out, without my phone. Luckily, my neighbors and a woman named Dawn helped me. The woman who runs the place during the day was off at 5. “Hidden, Rest” made me expect somewhere secluded, and this wasn’t it.

Melissa was so helpful, kind, and accommodating. The cabins were super cute, clean, comfortable, and dog friendly. We also liked the shared outdoor spaces, with horseshoes, barbecues, and lots of seating. We’ll definitely visit Hidden Rest Cabins again next time we’re in Show Low.
