Holiday Inn Express Pinetop

The indoor heated pool is great and stays open until 11 p.m., and breakfast is good. It’s also in a great location and very well priced. I’ve stayed here a lot, but repairs seem to be getting neglected and the place is starting to run down. The bathroom wallpaper was peeling, there was no toilet paper, the carpet wasn’t clean, and I found trash under the beds. I always check there because my boy kicks things underneath.

Our holiday plans had gone badly at the Super 8 we’d originally booked, so we needed a hotel at the last minute. This place came through for us. Even though it was 2:30 in the morning and I had my 2-year-old and 2-month-old with me, we got a kind welcome at the front desk. The room was clean, the location was good, the indoor pool was a bonus, and breakfast was really good. The people were lovely too.

The bar was a bad experience. The bartender came up to my husband and immediately made a negative comment about his Dallas Cowboys hat, saying he couldn’t serve us because of it. He was rude and seemed like he might have been drinking. The room looked dated. It seemed clean at first, but closer inspection turned up hairs in the bathtub, mold on the wallpaper, and stains on the bedding. The mattress was very hard. We also took my 1-year-old granddaughter to swim, but a family there was extremely loud, with a toddler screaming while the parents did nothing. We had to keep covering her ears because it was piercing. We’re pretty sure they weren’t even guests. We had a bad stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Plenty of parking, an elevator, and a bar. The rooms were nice, and the elk head decor was a fun touch. I’d stay again.
