Boggs Mansion

I’ve stayed at Boggs Mansion on two Pittsburgh weekends to visit family. It’s comfortable and clean, and the operators are thoughtful and kind. They treat you like an old friend and make outstanding food with care. This is an excellent B&B.

The host did everything she could to make my stay a good one. The house is adorable and has the feel of another era, and the accommodation was spectacular. A 10/10 stay. I’d recommend it to anyone going to Pittsburgh.

We came for the weekend and a Pittsburgh Steeler game on Sunday night. Michael welcomed us Friday evening and was a superb host throughout. Our Red Room was small but had what we needed. Breakfast each morning was filling and delicious, and Michael kept my teacup topped up while we sat outside in the sunshine. We also enjoyed the afternoon cookies, evening snacks, and well-stocked soda fridge. There was plenty of parking at the Mansion, and it was convenient for the places we visited. We’d happily come back.

The location worked out really well. There’s a park across the street with the National Aviary and Lake Elizabeth, a peaceful place to walk around and enjoy nature. We were in town for a Steelers game, and the stadium was an easy 20-minute walk through charming streets lined with historic architecture. We were surprised by how walkable everything was from Boggs Mansion. My wife and I stayed last weekend and loved the experience. We’re fans of historic buildings and architecture, and this place felt like stepping back into the 1800s. Our Mr. Boggs room was comfortable. Cindi, the innkeeper, was warm and friendly, like an old friend we hadn’t seen in years. We’ve never felt so spoiled on a trip. She asks what you like for breakfast, then makes it for you in the morning. That personal touch made the stay special.
