EVEN Hotel Pittsburgh Downtown by IHG

My friends and I like to come here to party because they let you make as much noise as you want. We’d come back to the room around midnight and blast music, and they didn’t care. At one point a guy asked us to turn it down a little because someone had apparently complained, but we ignored him and kept going. We went out again, came back around 2am, and carried on. One friend joined in and we played oldies, not because we’re old, lol. It felt great to do whatever we wanted even if other guests might not like it. Most hotels want things quiet, but here we felt free. We’ll definitely stay again. I saw in another review that they let you smoke, so we have to try that next time. Definitely recommend for a fun time!

The hotel has a weird but very cool feel, and the room was spotless. Check-in was friendly and efficient, the shower was amazing, and breakfast was decent. My only complaint is the parking. I was told it would be $30, but when we left less than 24 hours later, I was charged $40. I’ve searched everywhere for a contact number to ask about it and haven’t found one. Can someone from the hotel help?

The room was still 83 degrees when I came back that night, so I had to sleep in the heat. Over my three-night stay, the air conditioning never worked, even with the thermostat set to 72. Staff moved me to another room at 3 a.m. on the second night, but its air conditioning failed too. They said it had been fixed, then sent someone hours later after I reported it again. He also said it was fixed, but it wasn’t. Housekeeping only came by once in those three nights to offer fresh towels and linens and clean the room. A miserable stay.

I was charged $141.36 for a room I never entered or even saw. I tried to cancel hours before check-in, after learning the new staff member was there, the official check-in time was still hours away, and parking cost $29, with no space for my equipment in the garage. I’d booked and paid through GovX, but they denied the refund. For days, employees told me no manager was on site. Then, on the day I was meant to check out, I found out my reservation still showed as active with the third-party vendor. I’d contacted both the hotel and the vendor that same night to cancel, yet the cancellation fee came through the next day. This was my first trip to Pittsburgh, and it was a terrible experience. They seemed more interested in taking my money than addressing my concern, and the whole thing felt shady. Book or stay here at your own risk.
