Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Pittsburgh Downtown

Dylan at the front desk made a real impression. He was friendly, lovely to talk to, and gave us outstanding service. I can’t remember the last time a hotel employee stood out so much for both service and conversation. A+ experience. The lobby and room were clean and updated, and the river side has incredible views, though traffic can make it noisy. Parking is extremely limited around there, so I recommend valet. I’m giving it four stars because of the parking situation and limited direct walkability. Still, Uber and Lyft made it easy to get elsewhere.

We felt welcome and enjoyed the views at breakfast. The man looking after the breakfast area was great, keeping it clean and well stocked. Our room was clean and the service was good. The only part I didn’t love was parking. Valet was $42, which felt like a lot for a Fairfield, and self-parking wasn’t next to the hotel. I’d recommend staying here.

Ms. Cilicia Malone made our first visit to Pittsburgh memorable. When she asked what brought us to town, I told her we were celebrating my birthday. She upgraded our room to a beautiful river view and personally sent amenities and a birthday card to our room. I’m so grateful for the extra effort. We really appreciated it, and I recommend this hotel for its views and service.

The room was clean, and the front desk staff were nice. But the refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles were all empty. The $42 valet also irritated me, especially since the same garage is a block away and costs $14 if you park there yourself. If you just need a roof and a pillow, this place will do. Beyond that, it’s nothing special. Hotels can be mediocre enough already without paying that much for valet and finding no toiletries.
