Fairfield Inn & Suites Pittsburgh Airport/Robinson Township

They don’t clean the rooms and don’t seem to care. I paid $130 a night and got poor service, so this was the worst hotel experience I’ve had so far. It’s a waste of money, and I won’t return or recommend it. Go downtown for better service.

The room itself was relaxing and very nice, but the breakfast attendant Wanda and her coworker turned what could’ve been a five-star visit into a generous three. I didn’t use a full cup of waffle mix, and as I was about to add more, Wanda rudely said I didn’t need any and complained that people are wasteful. Then, when I opened the chafer for eggs, she told me to let go of it, without explaining why. When I asked her name, she said she knew she’d get more complaints. I suggested she might need a break, and her coworker replied that people needed common sense. I said hospitality workers need patience. It was a rude, ugly, unnecessary encounter, and I lost my appetite and threw out my waffle. You don’t know why someone is traveling or what they need from a hotel. Being kind shouldn’t be a chore in this job.

The location is great, and I had no issues with the staff, but the nightly price is hard to justify. There were muddy, wet footprints and dirty handprints in the elevators all weekend, plus food scraps in the hallways. The walls are paper thin, and the so-called blankets don’t even cover the bed. It’s not the worst place I’ve stayed, but there’s plenty to improve. It’s surprising how much we’ll pay to be disappointed.

I used to like staying here for work, but the last few visits have been a huge letdown. This time the shower had someone’s public hair all over the ledge and walls, plus an unknown yellow sticky substance on the walls. I told the front desk, and they assured me someone would clean it thoroughly. After a full day at work, I came back to find the shower exactly as I’d left it, even though housekeeping had been in the room. Nearly every surface was also covered in thick dust, as if it hadn’t had a proper cleaning in a long time. I’m disgusted, and I won’t be back.
