Quality Inn Plainfield

I've stayed here several times over the past year, and Kenrick has always gone out of his way to make the visit great. The other staff have been friendly too. The rooms aren't all the same, so I can only speak for the ones I've had, and they met my expectations. The pool is kept clean, though it's not heated, which is a letdown in colder months. Still, it's nice to have one. I'd recommend the place if you're after clean rooms at a reasonable price.

More than 50 of us ended up looking for rooms here around 3 a.m. after our flight was diverted to Indianapolis. The staff stayed positive through what could easily have become a stressful mess, and did their best to help everyone. They got rooms cleaned quickly, and we had ours by 4:30 a.m. Thanks to Kendric, Victor, Maria, and the rest of the staff for turning the situation into a much better experience.

The room did have good water pressure, a microwave, and a fridge, and I was told the pool is heated now despite older reviews saying it was cold. But we never got to use it, which was a big disappointment since that was the main reason I booked. It was 100 degrees out, there wasn't much nearby to do, and I was stuck entertaining my 3-year-old in musty rooms. We arrived after a three-hour drive, and my son was thrilled to see the pool, but there was a “pool closed” sign. At 6 p.m. an employee said someone had broken glass, so it had been closed that day and might open the next. The sign was still up the following day. Another employee told me it had actually been open since 3 p.m. the day before, and she had forgotten to remove the sign after cleaning it. I don't know who was mistaken, but I was angry. When I said we could take the sign down, she told me to do it myself. You have to ring a bell whenever you need someone, since the front desk staff stay in back. Our first room was extremely musty, so we moved. The employee was helpful, and the second room was better, but still musty enough that I checked out early to find another hotel. The floors were dirty, the fire alarm was broken and dangling, and the outside doors weren't locked.

The staff were wonderful and the rooms were nice and clean. I got snowed in, which was a bummer, though I guess people who could drive out might have been able to clear a way for me to leave. That's not the hotel's fault. I'd stay again, and hopefully next time I'll plan around the snow! lol 🤦🏽‍♂️
