The staff were friendly, and the bed was comfortable and clean, but for about $90 I expected the room and property to be a little nicer. I ended up telling friends where I was staying and giving them my room number in case of crime. I was assigned a pet-friendly room, with disgusting carpet, right next to the smoking rooms. At check-in I was told only two-bed rooms were available, even though the place was less than half occupied. This was before I mentioned I had a pet.

The room was huge and clean, the beds were comfortable, and we got a good night’s sleep with plenty of hot water. We paid about $20 more because we didn’t book online. Next time I’ll definitely book online for the much cheaper rate.

We picked this place because it had the best of the bad reviews in the area, but we should’ve kept driving to Amarillo, TX for a room. The heat either blasted us or left us freezing, with no comfortable middle setting. The toilet seemed made for a toddler and ran all night. While packing to leave, I spotted someone’s driver’s license under the bed, expired in 2016! Has nobody stayed in that room since 2016, or was it just not cleaned well? We won’t return. It wasn’t worth what we paid. When we mentioned the problems to June, she said we should have called to be moved. Every room should be kept to a high standard, and this one wasn’t. Go somewhere else!

The staff were kind and tried to help when I asked to switch rooms, and they offered to cancel without charge. But by then it was 8 pm, and we couldn’t find another hotel at a reasonable price, so we stayed. It was a terrible decision. Our first room smelled musty and had really old, dirty carpet. The second smelled bad too and had two dead bugs on the carpet. The room was dirty and really old, and we had to kill over six mosquitoes during the night. I’m not sure why the hotel has so many good reviews. Maybe the two rooms I saw were the bad ones, but it definitely needs renovation and better cleaning.

The bathroom was filthy. There was lots of black hair in the tub and across the floor, and the tub had a black ring around it like it hadn’t been cleaned for some time. The toilet seemed made for a child and sat very close to the wall. There was barely any toilet paper on the holder and no extra roll. The mirror above the sink was streaky, and the sink drained poorly. The room smelled awful as soon as we walked in. Do yourself a favor and run to another hotel.
