Holiday Inn Express & Suites Plainview by IHG

Plainview turned out to be a lovely surprise, with some of the kindest, friendliest people I’ve met. The hotel is close to restaurants, shops, and whatever else you might need. I’ve been here for an extended stay, and the rooms are comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. Breakfast is hot, fresh, and delicious every day. The staff have all been welcoming and accommodating, and they make an effort to keep the stay comfortable. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The evening front desk employee was very nice, but we won’t be back after our two nights here. The hotel feels dated and needs another renovation. Our room was noisy, the elevator was old and jerky, and the towels were scratchy. The back of the bathroom door hadn’t been wiped in a while, and there was no soap or shampoo in the containers. We didn’t even get complimentary water. The heating and air unit was partly pulled out of the wall on one side, so cold north wind came in. It ran all night without warming the room. The mattress was worn out and very uncomfortable, and the bathroom needed attention.

I paid $580 for a two-day, three-night stay at a Plainview, Texas hotel, expecting a double suite. Instead, we were given a king suite, leaving my son to sleep on the floor. I asked several times to change rooms, but staff refused and only gave us bedding for the floor. They insisted it was a double suite, but it wasn’t. I usually book through Priceline and can’t tell whether that caused the mix-up or whether it was the hotel staff. The room also needed upkeep: the shampoo and conditioner bottles were out of their place, the tub faucet wasn’t securely attached, and the door looked neglected. I was very disappointed with both the room and the way staff handled the problem. I stay at Holiday Inn often, and this was by far the worst one I’ve experienced.

Really good stay. The service was great, the place was clean, and breakfast was enjoyable. Dogs are allowed, the beds were comfortable, and I love that they stock Dove products in the bathrooms.
