TownePlace Suites by Marriott Wrentham Plainville

The TV in my room doesn't work, and I was told the hotel was struck by lightning last year and has numerous electrical problems. Call and ask, the hotel is upfront about it after you check in. After a long flight, I arrived for check-in and had used the app to tell them when I'd get there. Even with Titanium status, the receptionist said she couldn't check me in right away and made me wait in the lobby. She didn't check whether the room was ready, saying I had to wait until 3pm, and that nobody would check before then even if it might be ready. Not a good start to a week-long stay. I waited an hour, then her shift ended and she left without helping me check in or telling anyone.

The location for the Lainey Wilson concert at the Xfinity Center was wonderful, and that's the only reason this gets two stars. The hotel itself was a letdown. After being out in the cold, my friend and I got back around midnight hoping for hot showers. We both got barely lukewarm water and absolutely no pressure. I couldn't rinse the shampoo and conditioner out properly, and my hair felt greasy. I couldn't believe it, so I checked with my friend and she had the same problem. The downstairs bar was closed for a private event. What about hotel guests who wanted a drink? Couldn't they have had a separate bartender for us? Otherwise, this deserves one star.

The room was okay, but it could've been cleaned better. Used bobby pins and hair elastics on the floor made it clear it hadn't been vacuumed. The location was convenient and the price was good for the area, which makes this unfortunate. The main issue is that the beds advertised as queens are actually full size, leaving my husband, who's over 6ft tall, very uncomfortable with his feet hanging over the end. We were too busy to change rooms during the stay. Charging for a queen while providing a full was disappointing, and customer service made it worse. I called three times for a manager, but there never seemed to be one working. I was also promised the GM would call when they were in last week, but they never did.

I've stayed here twice. The hotel is very modern and has a bar, a great gym, and an indoor heated pool. It's in the same building as SpringHill, which feels a little awkward.
