Renaissance Fort Lauderdale West Hotel

The waitress was pleasant, and I left around a 22% gratuity, but I was still surprised by how little warmth and knowledge the staff showed at a hospitality place like Renaissance. We’d booked for a friend’s birthday at her choice of venue, but the birthday barely got acknowledged. When we arrived, we were the only guests, and the greeting before we were seated felt cold and indifferent. The menu didn’t offer much variety, and the staff didn’t seem very knowledgeable about the dishes. The Espresso martini and citrus martini were mediocre at best. The wine was okay because I already knew the vendor. I wouldn’t return to this restaurant.

Everything else was good, and the staff were helpful. The place was clean, but our bed was starting to sag, so we both kept rolling toward the middle and didn’t sleep as well. I would’ve liked a microwave, too. Parking got tight on weekend evenings when there were parties in the ballroom.

Our church held its Christmas Party at this Hotel, and it was amazing. The food was incredibly good and flavorful, and the banquet looked beautiful. Mercedes, Nancy, Rita, Suldeny, Lean and Daniel were great serving us. The rooms were clean and nice, and the service, kindness, commodities and amenities were excellent. Sahika stayed with me through the whole process. The catering manager, staff manager, and everyone else were great. Thank you! Great Hotel, I recommend it 100%.

The low water pressure at the bathroom sink made getting ready in the morning slower and more tedious. Still, the room was clean, the hotel was quiet at night, and the staff and overall environment were good. I liked having plenty of comfortable spots to sit inside, plus outdoor seating in back where I could relax. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the digital key was convenient. I could request room service or housekeeping in the app, and staff were always helpful when I needed extra utensils for takeaway food, even though I didn’t eat at the restaurant. It’s handy if you have a car. I’d stay again if needed, though it’s not a five-star hotel.
