Quality Inn & Suites Plattsburgh

The front desk staff were very friendly, but we won’t be coming back. The whole hotel smelled of cigarettes despite the no-smoking rule, and there was a lot of dog mess near the entrances.

I stayed in room 101 on Black Friday, November 28, and it was disgusting. There were bedbugs, dirty sheets and a dirty duvet, and what looked like blood or wine on the walls. The bedroom door was filthy too. The toilet wasn’t even covered properly, just with toilet paper. They did nothing about these problems. I’m still waiting for a full refund. They’re offering only $25 for this stay, which is disrespectful to your clients. This hotel needs serious work. When I checked my credit card this morning, I saw a charge for $48.15 and don’t know what it’s for. They’re also trying to charge my card fraudulently. I called, and they said they didn’t know what I was talking about.

The evening employee was very friendly. When we called the front desk about the TV, he came to help right away. I wish I’d gotten his name. I can’t say anything nice about the other man who works in the morning. The hotel has a pool and breakfast in the morning. There didn’t seem to be much security. Anyone could walk into the building at any hour, and that made it hard to sleep. The whole place smelled of cigarette or marijuana smoke, despite all the signs prohibiting smoking, so it’s not a good choice if you’re sensitive to those smells. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The room was much nicer than I expected for the price, and it was practically immaculate, so the reviews I’d seen about its condition turned out to be unwarranted. The air conditioner worked, the shower was in good shape with good pressure and very hot water, and it stayed quiet even though the hotel was booked. The exterior looked a little rough, as another reviewer mentioned. I needed a room for one night because my band, The Antarctican, was playing a show at the Monopole in Plattsburgh, and I was glad I’d made a reservation since they were completely booked. The people at both check-in and checkout were friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely book there the next time we have a show in Plattsburgh.
