The outside looked a little run-down, but the office seemed clean enough, so we booked a room. There were bugs everywhere, including roaches that didn’t even run from the light, and cigarette burns on the comforter. The second room wasn’t any better. We asked for a refund, had some drama over it, but did get our money back. If you have to stay here, bring enough to buy bug spray at Walmart.

The bed was really comfortable, and I got the best sleep I’ve had in months. The room AC was ice cold, and the area was quiet, with a bar and grill nearby. It had a mom-and-pop feel, which I liked. I’ll definitely stay again.

We used the clean, small room just to sleep and rest during the weekend of the strawberry festival. Parking was close to the rooms, and it’s a short drive from Poteet. The staff were friendly. I’ll come back next year.

Road noise went on all night, and we could hear people arguing in the next room. We had to check in and talk to the manager through a mail slot, and there were some sketchy people hanging around. It’s cheap and dumpy, so you get what you pay for. If the absolute lowest price isn’t what you need, spend $10 more for a better room.

A decent cheap hotel, but the rooms are about what you’d expect for the price. The bathrooms are tiny, and I’m not sure the place meets all the life-safety and ADA codes.
