Residence Inn by Marriott Minneapolis Plymouth

The front desk people are a big reason I'd come back. Anna, Cheryl and the rest of the team are genuinely lovely, helpful with local recommendations, and great to talk with. My month-long stay went well. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, the pool kept the kids busy, and the gym had what I needed for a workout. I'd recommend it for a short visit or a longer stay.

The one-bedroom layout worked well, and the kitchen was great for cooking. The bedroom is small, so we had to keep open suitcases in the living room. The hotel was clean and didn't feel old, and the staff were friendly and quick to respond. The convenient location is another reason I'd consider coming back. A couple of things caught us off guard. Parking costs $10 per night plus tax, or $10.85, in their large lot, which is unusual for a RI. The hotel is older, and the shower temperature fluctuated between what we'd set and hot and cold water while we showered. I might return for the layout, location and staff, but I'd look for another property rather than pay a parking fee disclosed in fine print at the very bottom of the reservation details.

I tried changing the dates, asked for a short-term property credit of even 3 to 6 months, and offered to pay for one night while cancelling the rest of the stay. They refused every option. I'd attempted to cancel more than 24 hours before check-in, but there was no flexibility. The way it was handled made the experience worse. Staff were rude and dismissive, wouldn't listen to reasonable alternatives, and at one point refused to keep speaking with my travel agent. I understand policies exist, but there was no effort to find a solution or show basic professionalism and respect for a loyal traveler. After this, I'm taking my business to Hilton. I'd strongly suggest thinking twice before booking here.

The breakfast was included and full, and the lobby had lots of places to hang out. Rooms were spacious, modern and spotless, with a comfy bed and pleasant staff. The fitness center was well equipped. Can't ask for more!
