We came for one night for the Chincoteague pony swim, a 15-20 minute drive away. As two women traveling, we felt completely safe in the area. There aren't many restaurants nearby, but Walmart and food lion are a few miles away and Starbucks is four minutes away, so the apartment-sized fridge could come in handy for a longer visit. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and we had no issues. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Renovations are underway, so some areas still look dated and a few details in our room were unfinished, like baseboards that needed paint and grout that could use a touchup. Neither affected our stay. The spotless apartment fridge and microwave were a surprise. There's not much hanging space for an extended stay, but hooks with hangers, a full ironing board, and an iron were provided. The beds were SO cozy. They get the important things right, and I'd stay again if I'm in the area. It'll be nice to see the completed remodel.

The front desk person was nice, but the first room had dogs barking next door while a woman yelled at them to be quiet. I switched rooms, and the neighbor there spent all night yelling and arguing with himself. I couldn't sleep, but it was late and I just wanted a room for the night, so I didn't move again. The tub had rust all over it and the bathroom was disgusting. I couldn't bring myself to shower, much less soak in it. I didn't feel safe, with shady people around the room. I got up early to get the hell out, and saw the neighbor standing naked with his curtains wide open. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

No problems during my stay. The place was clean, quiet, and safe, and the staff were friendly and quick to help, going out of their way when needed. I saw an older negative review and disagree with it.

We stayed two nights for oceans calling and the renovated rooms were really nice and clean. Perfect for that trip, and I'd stay again.
