The White Sands Oceanfront Resort & Spa

The beachfront setting had beautiful views and a peaceful feel from the start. We did have a small issue with our room, but the owner, Christina, handled it quickly and kindly, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable for the rest of the trip. Their professionalism and care made a real difference. What could have been a minor setback instead showed us what thoughtful hospitality feels like. We left with lovely memories and appreciation for the people behind this special place. We’ll gladly come back, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful spot where guests feel valued.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, but the stay was very disappointing. I hadn’t been here in a long time and had heard it had improved, but that wasn’t my experience. The beds were rock hard, the atmosphere felt dark and dismal, and there was no hot water for the shower. The outdoor pools themselves were clean, but the chairs were old and dirty, and the whole area looked worn out and uninviting. It needs paint and power washing, and the pool towels were thin and shabby. There’s no maid service unless you pay extra. This place has seen better days.

The White Sands made our wedding weekend amazing. They kept track of our room block and helped make sure we had everything we needed beforehand. The honeymoon suite was just right, with plenty of space and a romantic feel for our wedding night. My husband and his groomsmen got ready in The Studio, the private wedding lounge. It was a beautiful space with room to hang out and get ready, plus apps and beer buckets. I’m so glad we booked it, and I’d recommend it for either side of the wedding party. We had our after party at Tradewinds, their restaurant, and it was such a fun time. Our guests are still talking about the night and how chic the space was. It’s a five-minute drive from our venue at Clarks Landing, and a perfect place to end the night. It was especially easy for us and our out-of-town guests to head straight to our rooms afterward.

We stayed at The White Sands for two nights. The room was small and very dark, the beds were hard, and the water was cold, so if you like cold showers, you’re in for a treat. The location near the boardwalk is great, and the place has potential, but it needs a lot of TLC. The blue and white pool lounge chairs are worn and black, and should probably have been replaced years ago. We won’t be coming back, which is a shame given the location.
