La Costa Beach Club

The bathroom and shower were so small that they'd only suit a midget, which is why I gave the room four stars. Our floor was dirty too, and we had to wipe it down with wet towels so our feet wouldn't turn black. Still, we'd stay at LaCosta BCR again in a heartbeat. The staff on site, other guests, and owners were friendly and helpful, and the property had good gated card security and plenty of free parking. We enjoyed the cross ventilation through the separate bedroom and small living room with kitchen, so we didn't need AC even when it was in the 80s. We booked a pool view for five days but got room 201 without one. It didn't bother us much, since we spent most of our time at the three pools, including two heated ones and a covered indoor cold pool, the two hot tubs, one covered indoors, and the beach. The room had a full furnished kitchen with a refrigerator and freezer with ice maker, stove and oven, microwave, coffee pot, dishwasher, and two TVs. Karaoke one night sounded fun. After our six-day cruise, we spent four days at Hillsboro Beach Resort, two or three miles north. In comparison, we'd choose LaCosta BCR again and avoid HBR. See my one-star Google review for them.

The grounds were very well maintained, and I loved the gas grills by the pool. Our room was well equipped, and it's a great spot right on the beach. This was our second visit.

We paid for an ocean view but ended up looking at the parking lot. We couldn't even get towels for showering, and the pools were heinous. This is a timeshare, and I don't see how it stays in business. Maybe it's because lots of seniors have been coming here for 25 years. There isn't anything to do around here either. It's just not a nice place to stay. Sad.

The apartment was clean, had full AC, and was in a great location. It included a bedroom, full kitchen, bathroom, dining area, living area, two TVs, and a view of the pool and beach. The resort itself is plain on the outside but turned out to be a gem inside. The gorgeous beach is literally 20 steps away, and we enjoyed a couple of great walks with little traffic around.
