Wave Beach Vacation Rentals

We had to leave after one night and find another hotel. The management company is refusing even a partial refund, though that’s all I asked for and would’ve been happy with. The room was filthy, with broken furniture, fingerprints and smudges, and hardly any cutlery or glassware. Around the pool, chairs and umbrellas were broken and the area was run-down. Guests in other rooms smoked marijuana, ran through the halls, and screamed at all hours. Don’t believe the photos. This place is a dump run by a slumlord property management company. Stay anywhere else.

We had Wi-Fi that kept dropping out, which was a big problem because my son needed to work. The management ignored my complaints about the connection and the constant noise, and didn’t try to fix either issue. At one point they wanted us to move to another motel because they needed to renovate our room. During our month-long rental, half the rooms were empty, but they still refused to move us upstairs. Meanwhile, they were often in our room fixing something, installing a new electric panel or water heater, or checking on things. The walls were paper thin, so we heard constant noise from upstairs and dogs howling next door. The stay was horrible and frustrating, and they don’t reimburse you if you leave early. Don’t trust the pictures. Complaining to Airbnb about the noise and renovations disturbing us got no results.

Bugs kept showing up in the kitchen over several nights, so we couldn’t use it. We had to keep things in the fridge.

The lock on our unit was broken, so we didn’t feel safe. None of the outlets worked, the light switches didn’t work properly, and there was a broken door inside. The host stopped responding when we reached out repeatedly for help. We got no support and had no choice but to leave for another hotel at the last minute. We’re still trying to get a refund from VRBO, and the process has been a hassle. We also later got an email saying pest control was scheduled to enter because of bed bugs. That was the breaking point, and it felt dangerous and completely unacceptable. From the start, there was an overpowering urine smell, as if someone had painted over it to mask it, but it was still unbearable. The couch and chairs were stained and clearly not cleaned properly. A blanket had been put over them, but we saw what was underneath. The floors were filthy, and there was no hot water at all. The time and money wasted were beyond frustrating. Avoid this VRBO Listing, it was a complete nightmare from beginning to end. Calling it a scam, the host didn’t seem to care about our experience. Stay far away and book somewhere else where you can enjoy your vacation and feel safe.
