Blue Spruce Motel

Really affordable, and right in the heart of Port Austin. The staff were unbelievably nice and cleaned the rooms daily. Our room had two queen beds, plus a fridge, microwave, table and chairs, and air conditioning. Service was available around the clock. I think there's a pool, too!

We had grills to use, and the staff shared a fire pit with us. Blue Spruce and Lucky Horseshoe were within walking distance of the beach and pier, and restaurants were easy to walk to as well. My husband and I enjoyed our stay, and the staff were very friendly.

The location made it easy to walk everywhere, and the room had a lovely woodsy cabin feel. It was very clean by my standards, the decor was nice, and they replaced the supplies we used each day. The woman who checked me in was so kind, and when I called a few hours before check-in to ask if my room was ready, it was. I loved the stay and we'll definitely come back. I did have a couple of personal comfort issues. The mattress felt too firm, so I tossed and turned, and I couldn't find an AC setting that worked for me. On low, the room got really cold; with it off, it got hot. Other people may not mind either thing.

We had a blast celebrating my birthday weekend here and would happily stay again. The staff were kind and accommodating, and the cabin was spotless, cute, and just the right size for my hubby and me. The heated pool felt perfect in full sun even though it was only 70 degrees. We could walk to the lake, beach, restaurants, and shops. There was no hair dryer in the cabin, but the office gave us one when I called, so that wasn't a big deal. The only real drawback was that there was AC but no heat. It got quite chilly overnight, though we had an extra blanket. I probably wouldn't book it in chilly weather.
