Arlington Inn

The place was dated and smelled musty, like mold. The photos looked nothing like it did in person. I won’t be coming back anytime soon.

The location is hard to beat, and there’s plenty to do nearby. The Bait House bar out back has a Key West beach bar feel, and the street festival across the road brings live music and drinks every Thursday through Saturday. It’s a short walk over. The place isn’t the most modern, and there are some blemishes, but they add to its charm. Service was fantastic, too. Kari helped me find some Neosporin and took care of me like a pro. A few hours earlier, she’d been sweeping the lot and checking whether patrons needed anything. She was still at it on a Saturday. A+ to The Arlington Inn!

Right on the water, with an amazing location. The room was pretty outdated, but it was super cute. Hard to ask for a better spot.

The harbor view, the easy walk to the beach, and the peaceful evenings outside were all nice. We sat by the tables and umbrellas while the bar next door had live music, and the weather was great. There weren’t any mosquitoes while we were there, though I can’t say whether that’s normal. The AC worked very well, maybe too well, since it could freeze you out. But the beds in room 112 were awful. They felt like slabs, and we’re cutting our trip short by a day so we don’t have to sleep on them again. The shower had a lot of black mold on the curtain and in the stall, and the showerhead sprayed in random directions. The bathroom door wouldn’t close unless slammed against the frame, and opening it took a few hard shoves. My 11-year-old daughter couldn’t close it, and I’m a 260-pound man and had trouble too. The room felt dated, though not especially dirty. The TV picture was bad, with around 20 channels and none for kids. If they improved the beds and bathrooms, this might be a decent place. As it is, I’d spend more to stay somewhere better.
