Best Western Port Huron Blue Water Bridge

There were tiny bugs all over the sink, probably elsewhere too, though the white sink made them easier to see. The hallway smelled of cigarette and marijuana smoke. As we were leaving, someone who looked homeless was trying to open every door in the hallway, then exited the building when they saw us.

It’s an older hotel being renovated, but our room was very clean. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy with it and even called to check. We arrived early for a wedding and were allowed to check in ahead of time, with a room upgrade too. Breakfast was included and had real food, including eggs, pancakes, waffles, and sausage. Kudos to Veronica, who checked us in on her birthday. We’d gladly stay here again.

Right off the interstate, with a big parking lot that can fit some semi trucks. The price was excellent, and I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m in the area. The helpful staff were great, the rooms very clean, and the beds comfortable. Breakfast had the usual items and they kept everything well stocked. Thanks, BW!

I arrived close to 10 pm without a reservation, and Roger found me a nice room overlooking the river. Because of my status, he also gave me a drink and snack, which was handy since I try not to buy food at the airport. We had a funny chat while he printed the paperwork I needed for work. Breakfast the next morning was a pleasant surprise: bacon and smoked sausage. I stay in hotels a lot, and most breakfasts are the same scrambled “egg” and steamed, or boiled, sausage patties. While I ate, I tried to get an Uber for a place about 3 miles away. Veronica said Uber doesn’t run in that area, so a taxi was my only choice. I called one, but they didn’t answer even though it was during their business hours. Veronica then offered to drive me where I needed to go. In my opinion, Roger and Veronica went above and beyond for a last-minute late arrival who needed somewhere to stay and had limited ways to get around in the morning. I’ll stay at this location whenever I’m in Port Huron for the night.
