Days Inn Port Jervis

The room itself was good, with a comfortable bed and tons of pillows for each bed. There was a pool, too, but the TVs looked like they were from the early 2000s and there wasn’t a fridge. Staff were slow and careless, taking too long to help customers. Then at 11:30 last night, while we were asleep, a stranger walked into our room because the front desk thought it was vacant.

The woman working there was very friendly, even though having only one person on staff meant we waited a long time. I believe they had a smoking floor, but thankfully she moved us away from it. Unfortunately, the second floor was hot because the air conditioning was broken, and the pool was out of service. The entrance was falling apart and gave my family a bad first impression. Other than those few things, we had a great stay!

The staff were really nice, friendly, and helpful, but our room was nasty. As soon as we checked in, we had to ask someone to change the sheets because they looked like someone had peed on them, and I think there were bed bugs. Breakfast was limited. The pool was nice while it was open, but it was dirty and we picked the bugs out ourselves. The lobby and hallway smelled like piss, like they might be cleaning with dirty water. I stayed here in 2010 and it was so nice and clean. Seeing how much worse it had become in six years made me sad. They need a serious upgrade.

I was in town for a wedding at the Cedar Lake Estate, and the hotel’s location worked out really well. The room was fairly roomy and reasonably comfortable. Cleanliness could’ve been better, and there was a steady smell in the air, sort of like chlorine or toilet cleaner.
