Fathoms Hotel & Marina

We ended the stay feeling like we’d made two new friends, and the hosts did everything they could to make it great. The location made it easy to walk to restaurants, ice cream, delis, and more, and many historic sites were an easy drive away. Reserved parking was convenient too. Our room was clean and remarkably comfortable, with a beautiful view. We made good use of the reserved outdoor area overlooking the bay, having coffee there in the morning and wine in the evening. We can’t recommend this hotel enough.

We came back to Fathoms for a second year, and Cindie and Steve were wonderful hosts again, always going the extra mile. It’s a peaceful, beautiful spot with lovely birdlife, surprisingly close to Manhattan. The delivered bagels for breakfast and the breakfast bar are lovely too.

It’s worth booking well ahead for this special boutique hotel. We’d wanted to stay at Fathoms for years and have now had several chances to visit. The owners make you feel like the only guests, and they’ve thought of every detail to make you feel cared for. The finishes have the upscale feel of a luxury hotel. Each room is a little different, but even if yours isn’t directly on the waterfront, there’s a lovely porch and dock with tables and lounge chairs overlooking the water. It’s a great place for a photo. You can watch the evening sunset, have dinner by water taxi, or spend a quiet night on the patio or dock as the local boats settle in. If you love being by the water, you won’t be disappointed.

Cindie and Steve took such loving care of every detail, and made sure we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay with snacks, drinks, a delicious breakfast, and great suggestions for restaurants and parks. My husband, Mike, and I spent an extended Mother’s Day weekend here and had a fantastic time. Our room was bright, fresh, and clean, with a top-notch bed and linens. Fathoms Hotel & Marina is a gorgeous hidden gem in a beautiful town on Long Island’s north shore. Love, love, love it!
