The location was the best part for us. It was near plenty of things we did, and all our drives were under 20 minutes. Everything else in the room was fine: the bed was comfortable, the blackout curtains kept it cool, and the room AC worked well. Staff seemed nice and friendly enough, though after a couple of days I could see a difference. The lobby AC is broken, and I imagine the heat there, including where people prepare breakfast, is starting to hurt morale. Breakfast was a big disappointment after staying at the Amarillo Town Suites. The eggs were too watery, the sausage looked half cooked and tasted a little strange, and the orange juice tasted off, as if the machine wasn't clean. The basic waffle station produced odd-tasting waffles, and there were only two cereal choices. At least more cereal options would help. The reused salsa container had crusty salsa on the sides, clearly refilled without being cleaned between uses. The bathroom smelled weird and was disappointing. The toilet leaked when flushed; we reported it, but the towel we left there was still in place. One hanging towel didn't look fresh like the others, and the unwrapped soap had been used, though its wrapper was in the trash. Thick, long black hair was stuck to the bathtub walls, so I removed it. I think the bathroom fan or vent was broken too. The room cleaning needs work, especially in the bathrooms, and some maintenance fixes are sloppy. The restroom facilities need an update or at least better maintenance; they were like a motel bathroom.

The lobby was large, and breakfast was good. We had spacious rooms, and the full-size fridge and microwave were a nice perk. My room had a funky smell, though it seemed clean, just not immaculate. There's not much around the hotel besides apartments, and it's a little under a mile into the city. The price was high because of a cheer competition. During an ice storm, we were playing an intense card game at night and got told to keep our voices down. Nobody said anything the night before.

The room size and nighttime quiet were both appreciated, and I made good use of the little kitchenette and gym. The hotel is in a nice Fort Worth location, close enough for a short, reasonably priced Uber to the Stockyards, while far enough away that rates aren't crazy and noise stays under control.

I stayed for a month in February, and the rooms felt tired and trashy. The train tracks are right nearby, so it was like sleeping on a station bench. The beds were about as comfortable as that bench. I wouldn't wish this stay on anyone. The manager never answered my email, and my issues still haven't been resolved. Parking gets scarce, so get a spot early and don't give it up. There can also be surprise water shutoffs with no advance notice beyond a flyer on the front desk counter. I'm talking a full eight-hour shutoff from 9 to 5. The check-in welcome brief says housekeeping is every other day, with a full cleaning every fifth day. That's a lie. I had my DND sign up during my first week because I don't need much during a stay. After the week, I took it down and left for the day, expecting the room to be freshened up. It wasn't. The next morning, I politely asked the front desk to put me on the list, and they said they probably wouldn't get to it that day either. I asked for towels while I was out, but those never came. The room finally got freshened up on the third day after I took the sign down, so much for every other day. I stayed a month and only needed cleaning three or four times, but I feel they could have made more effort to accommodate me. Customer service and clear communication aren't their strong suits. It took weeks for anyone at the hotel to respond to my problems, and then they offered a lousy 15,000 points. Take every housekeeping offer you can get. I hope the hotel makes changes, but it hasn't even dealt with my issues so far.

The room they gave us was supposed to be non-smoking, but when I asked, the man at the desk only grunted that the hotel was non-smoking. I don't believe it. It smelled somewhere between old cigarette smoke and death. We asked to switch rooms and were told everything was full, though he never even checked the computer. The place looks grimy and worn, smells bad, and the desk clerk was grumpy and couldn't manage basic customer service. I can't think of a single positive thing to say. Do yourself, your health, and your dignity a favor and stay away. Marriott should be ashamed to put its name on this dump.
