I’m asking rather than reviewing: what’s the appeal of this place? I understand there’s nudity, but I don’t see how that makes it attractive. It’s not a nightclub with provocatively dressed women. I’m 60, and I just don’t get it.

The place looks run down, the staff are rude, there’s mold on the walls, mice in the kitchen, and the jacuzzi water is dirty with chlorine. Since apartments were built next door, you can’t walk around nude anymore. I don’t see the point of a nudist resort with that restriction. I’d suggest going somewhere else for more fun and fewer rules.
My first visit was yesterday, and the people there made me feel welcome. The atmosphere was even better than I expected, and it was my first time at a good nudist park. It’s expensive, but worth it if you stay from opening to closing. I’ll definitely be back.
My wife, who has since passed away, and I used to live in Porter and went there before and around the time the owner was turning it into a nudist place. We knew the owner and camped, fished, and partied there. After the sun went down, the clothes came off too. It was a great place.
My wife and I first visited after living nearby for years, not knowing quite what to expect. We ended up having an amazing time, stayed for many hours, and joined that day. The front desk gave us helpful information, and Resort manager Dave made us feel welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend Emerald Lake. I also want to respond to the accounts from Tisha Blackwell and Tonya. I was there when people were smoking weed in the pool. They were out of line and got aggressive when several people asked them to stop. The manager spoke politely to them, but one of the women started shouting at him, contrary to what they said. The staff handled the problem, and I’m grateful. We love this place and hate seeing people lie about it.
