The washer, dryer, and ice machine were all out of order for our whole stay, so we had to use a laundromat and buy ice from the corner store. The ice cost $3 a bag, and we spent $36 in all to keep our things cold. Breakfast was limited, and on two days we had to wait for food that wasn't ready promptly. At checkout, the young woman asked about my stay. I told her what had gone wrong, and she offered to add 1,000 points to my account. That's worth close to $13, but the points were never added, and I didn't want points anyway. I wanted the time back, which obviously isn't possible. I wouldn't ask anyone to stay here and don't recommend this property or Avid in general. I'm an IHG member and haven't had an experience like this at any other IHG hotel. Check-in seemed easy enough, but the room was filthy. There was a urine stain on the sheets, and we couldn't sleep on them until the next day, after I asked housekeeping for a clean set. The shower door had buildup and mold, and it turned my stomach. The AC made an awful noise day and night, so we had to turn the TV up louder than usual.

I'm an IHG Rewards member and was extremely disappointed to arrive and be told my booked room had been given away to make space for another party. I chose this hotel specifically because it allows pets. I had booked with Mr. Patel and specifically requested a first-floor room because I had my dog with me. Instead, I stayed at the Best Western just around the corner, where they were very gracious and took care of us.

The staff were attentive. They fixed a problem with the door during my stay and cleaned the room as well as they could when I asked. The beds seemed clean and were good, and the room layout and general concept worked well. The problem is the wear and tear. There seems to be significant water damage and mildew in the showers, plus staining and water damage on the walls and cushioned furniture, perhaps because the bathroom ventilation is weak. Even a fresh application of Clorox from staff couldn't address what seems to be a widespread problem. This likely needs much deeper cleaning, maybe remodeling, beyond what regular housekeeping can do. Common areas and the lot were well kept, and service was great, but grime and stains on the bathroom surfaces, walls, and cushioned furniture detract from cleanliness. If you're very particular about hygiene, keep that in mind. I do appreciate the staff trying with what they have.

The grab-and-go breakfast was decent, but I found myself hoping the kitchen was cleaner than the room and hallways. A year ago this place felt newer and nothing like it did on this visit. It's unbelievable how disgusting it got in just one year, and it wasn't worth the price. Our room floor was filthy. Humidity seemed to bring up sticky layers of grime and cleaning product residue that caked onto our shoes and feet. The shower rinsed our feet black, and even after wiping them before putting on socks, the dirt got onto the sheets. Our shoes left tread marks in the residue. Mold and gunk filled the shower crevices, chunks of unknown stuff stuck to the walls, and smeared yellow stains marked the ceiling. A used dental flosser and spilled food sat in the hallway carpet for all four days we were there, untouched. Just gross. There are other places to stay.
