Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront

The harbor views are stunning, and the beautiful rooms separate the living area from the bathroom. The location makes it easy to walk to restaurants, boutiques, and little places for coffee or an afternoon snack. The Canopy's lobby gives you a sense of what a top-notch stay it's going to be, and the staff were very helpful.

The room was fine and the shampoo was nice, but the rooms were loud. I could hear the TV next door and traffic outside, and light came in around the windows despite the room-darkening curtains. The service was just okay, and staff weren't especially friendly at checkout. When we left early, they seemed focused on the fact that we still had to pay for the day rather than asking why we were going. We did pay, but still wanted to leave. The location is convenient, but the hotel is mid-tier at best, with plenty of better and nicer options in the Old Port. It's very expensive for what you get, and valet is the only parking option, at a high price. I don't understand the hype, wouldn't recommend it, and won't be back. I'm a Hilton Honors member, and this didn't feel like Hilton quality.

I'd been to Portland many times but only stayed at Canopy Hilton for the first time this weekend. Everything from valet through checkout exceeded our expectations. The staff were phenomenal, the location was perfect, and the on-site dining and lounge were fabulous. Top notch, and we'll absolutely stay here again on future Portland trips. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

The food was good, and the location worked perfectly. Rooms were very nice and the service was excellent. You can save a lot on parking by getting a pass first, then parking across the street. It only takes a few minutes.
