The Hoxton Portland

Emely and Sam helped me recover personal items I'd left behind after checkout, with real care and follow-through. That same attention was clear during our stay at The Hoxton Portland. My girlfriend and I were in room 707 on the 7th floor, and we loved the view and the hotel's soulful, classic style. It reminded me of an older hotel I once loved in San Francisco, warm, stylish, and full of character. Sam at the front desk was outstanding, and Mercedes was fantastic too. They made us feel comfortable and welcome from the start. Don and Andrel on the valet team were friendly and professional, offered suggestions for places to check out, and made everything smooth. We also had a bad incident at one of the restaurants inside the hotel, which could have spoiled the stay. Emely, the hotel manager, stepped in right away and handled it so well that I deleted a negative review I'd posted earlier. The management really impressed me. We had a great time and recommend the hotel for its people, service, and atmosphere. We'll be back.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, even in the elevator, and it felt like staying in a friend's great guest room, casual but stylish. I also appreciated that they actually read the special requests. I'd asked for extra pillows, and the front desk clerk brought it up and made sure it happened. The hotel has a real sense of place, flattering lighting, and no white walls in the rooms. I can't recommend it enough.

We were after somewhere clean, safe, and dog friendly, and this fit exactly. There are loads of great places to eat within a five-minute walk, from breakfast to food trucks and dinner. The staff were beyond what we expected. Andres at the front door, Mac at check-in, another young man, and even the manager were all helpful, kind, professional, and friendly.

The Hoxton has such a cozy, welcoming feel. Ed at the front desk was awesome, kind, and full of useful information when we checked in and out. Pamana on the first floor serves a delicious brunch, especially the pancakes. A wonderful hotel for a Portland stay.
