The private room is small, but cozy, and having a sink and mirror was handy. I’d been unsure about sharing bathrooms, but they’re private and spotless. There’s also an affordable parking garage a few blocks away. The lobby has a funky, stylish look, the rooftop views are spectacular, and the food and drinks are delicious and well priced. The staff were wonderful across the board, and it was a great stay for a fair price. If you want an affordable, stylish place in Old Town, this is it.

It’s an old hotel, but it’s very well kept, cute, and cozy. The staff were pleasant, and the barista at the cafe bar in the lobby was especially nice. We had fun with the cute photo booth inside, too. The location was central to where my partner and I wanted to go. There were homeless people around, but we could walk through the area at any time of day. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Portland.

The bunks were comfortable for what I paid, and the linens were clean, though there was trash behind the lock box. The bathrooms were very clean and had really nice conditioner. I did spot a silverfish in the bathroom, but that isn’t too surprising in an old building. There were no signs of mold. The area is very walkable and has a homeless population, though they mostly keep to themselves. The building stays locked around the clock, and you enter by buzzing in or using your key. I really enjoyed the stay and will definitely be back.

The style, good prices, food, and easy check-in made our stay really comfortable and enjoyable. We had some billing issues at first, but everything was handled smoothly. I also liked being able to buy alcohol after 8 pm, and the food was delicious. My partner and I stayed in a small room with a queen bed, and most things exceeded our expectations. The headboard and fan by the bed were dusty, though everything else was clean, especially the design and decor. The shower was the main disappointment: the floor was cold and the shower head basic and low, so I couldn’t get a full-body shower without sitting on the surprisingly pleasant little seat.

The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and the modern minimalist feel wasn’t tacky. The location was really convenient and the staff were super friendly. I had an upsetting situation with another guest in the bunk room. When I told Candice and Jessica at the front desk, they handled it immediately and incredibly well. I felt looked after and safe, and the level of service was more than I expected. Thank you both. I’d highly recommend The Society Hotel. A++
