Fireside Inn & Suites Portland

The beds were comfortable, and the room was okay, but breakfast was awful. There wasn't a single option I could eat as someone with diabetes. The biscuit sandwich needed a minute in the microwave, then came out with soggy bacon and an egg I couldn't even tell was real. The rest was packaged muffins, donuts, and some kind of granola bar. If breakfast is advertised, there should be something for everyone. I can't imagine anyone over eight enjoying it.

We stayed one night as a family, and the price was quite reasonable for the area. The hallways were cold, and breakfast was just fruit cups, granola bars, and coffee. We also couldn't get our room door open. A staff member came up, then had to go back to the desk to move us after he couldn't open it. He said the new room was an upgrade, though it looked the same as the one we'd booked.

The staff were friendly and professional, and the hotel itself is nice. The room was new and looked good, but it wasn't comfortable. We could hear our neighbors talking through the thin walls, the blackout curtains barely blocked any light, and the air conditioning wouldn't stay on. I wouldn't stay here again.

The location worked well for me, with restaurants and a grocery store nearby, and the airport about ten minutes away. My room was clean and quiet, with a comfortable bed, a huge TV, cold AC, and good Keurig coffee. The bathroom felt cramped, but the shower was hot with good pressure, and the towels were nice. Breakfast was a good grab-and-go spread: bacon or sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwiches to heat up, plus fruit, grain bars, muffins, fruit cups, and coffee. The front desk and other support staff were especially friendly and helpful. I'd happily stay at the Fireside Inn & Suites Portland again.
