Best Western Plus Portsmouth Hotel & Suites

The location was great, and my first stay here went well. This time, though, we couldn’t use the shower because its doors wouldn’t move. We called the front desk and got no answer. At checkout, we waited more than 10 minutes so we could tell someone we hadn’t been able to shower, but nobody came back to the desk.

I won’t stay here again. I spent a couple of months here last year for work, and the porter confronted me about my dog even though management knew I had him. He left me alone after that incident, but I returned last week for another stay of several months and today he confronted me again while I was sitting in the lobby. My service dog was lying at my feet and bothering no one. When I pointed out that he was the only person with a problem, he told me to watch my attitude. Other staff and guests like my dog. The houseman has serious issues with guests who have service animals. Don’t come here if you have one.

The front desk receptionist was professional and genuinely sweet, making check-in feel like a warm welcome. The Best Western Plus Portsmouth has a cozy seaside feel, with rustic maritime touches in the lobby and charming, thoughtfully chosen décor throughout the suites. The atmosphere is welcoming, blending coastal character with modern comfort. The location is perfect and the rooms are comfortable. Can’t wait to come back!

The pool was good, but it wasn’t enough to make the stay worthwhile. The rooms are outdated, and what they tell you on the phone doesn’t match what you find when you arrive. Staff weren’t very courteous, and there didn’t seem to be anyone in charge who could resolve customer issues. Very disappointed.
