Motel 6 Portsmouth, NH

We stayed here for a few months while waiting for our new apartment, and the staff made us feel welcome. It's kid and pet friendly, well kept, and smells nice. Room service was outstanding and checked that we had towels and toiletries. The complimentary coffee every morning was essential with a toddler around. The employees are super friendly, and Jenelle is an amazing manager. 5+ stars!

The whole place smelled of death, decay, and rot, and there were strange people hanging around outside at all hours while cops patrolled the parking lot. During our one-night stay, brown water came out of the sinks, toilet, and shower in both rooms, so we only used the toilet. The bed had just one sheet for a blanket. When we first got to the room, an ozone machine was running. I flagged down a worker and asked if it was meant to be there, and it wasn't. They removed it and opened the window to air the room out, but there was no screen, and we had pets with us. I didn't want them jumping from the third-floor window. I told the front desk woman within ten minutes of check-in. She had an attitude and said it had already been taken out, then said we should have told her it was there. She eventually gave us another room after being rude the whole time. This motel was a disaster, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The woman who checked me in was nice, but after that, the person at the desk seemed to speak very little English and kept repeating that the ice machine was broken. There was no ice for drinks, so you'd have to go out and buy some. The room was extremely small and not as clean as it should've been. I booked through Hotels.com, as I usually do, and the property didn't look like the photos on its website or Hotels.com. I chose this place for the pool, but it was closed and covered in late July, with no warning on either site. I can't believe I paid that much for one night alone in a single room. The place felt extremely mediocre and below standard, and I think the property took advantage of me and others paying that price. They should update their website and tell Hotels.com and other booking sites that nothing here works.

The rooms were small and had mold, the bathroom door was broken, the sink leaked, and there were bugs. The place was really dirty, and the housekeeping was horrible. The elevator is badly outdated too. Staff were rude and disrespectful, with poor customer service. The kid with the short moehock had a server bad adder rude. The four people working there were always on their phones and acted like guests were bothering them. The manager was kind of rude as well. They seem friendly only when it comes to your money. It's a low, run-down, disgusting motel. It should be shut down, or they should find staff who respect guests instead of kids who sit on their phones and stare at people in such a degrading way.
