The location is excellent and the staff were friendly, but I regret not paying more to stay somewhere else. We were there for two nights with our two kids while my husband had an emergency visit to the Portsmouth hospital. After a recent stay at the Best Western in Stowe, I expected a similar experience. This hotel is very old and needs updating. The TV was obsolete, and I couldn’t put a movie on for the kids or log into Netflix. There was no soundproofing: we heard neighbors talking and laughing until midnight, and the elevator all night whenever it stopped. I chose the place because I wanted a pool for the kids, and the pool was fine. We had limited things with us and had to use the room products, but the conditioner was so bad I couldn’t brush my daughter’s pool hair. I had to leave it tangled and buy conditioner the next day. There was no room service, no made beds, and no fresh towels. The beds were fine, but the room was dusty. My asthma and my son’s asthma both acted up. Breakfast was fine for the kids, though there wasn’t anything I wanted to eat, and the quality was what you’d expect. It cost $125 a night, and I would have spent more for a better stay. I won’t be back.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the shower had amazing water pressure. The front desk clerks were friendly and quick, and the breakfast server was attentive about refilling the station. As a professional house cleaner, I did notice some missed spots: one comforter was stained, and there were handprints all over the headboard.

The location is convenient, within walking distance of grocery stores and restaurants, and the rate was good. For a budget trip, I’d recommend it, and I’d stay again, though it wouldn’t be my first choice. Staff were friendly, but housekeeping could do better. The hotel was moderately clean and needs updating. My double queen room was spacious but nothing special, and the bed was uncomfortable, so I slept poorly throughout my three-night stay. The blackout curtains let in a lot of light. Breakfast wasn’t spectacular, but I ate it.

It’s an older property that could use a substantial refresh, but it was very clean and the staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was solid, with many of the usual things you’d expect at a Hampton Inn. Overall, it was a good value.

The bathrooms really need updating, though the rooms were clean. There are places to eat and shop nearby, and the location is very good. The front desk staff were cheerful and friendly throughout check-in and check-out, and breakfast was good compared with other hotels that include it.
