The room had a distinctive modern look, with a large upscale fridge, a roomy, comfortable sectional, and plenty of space to relax or get work done. The Residence Inn Portsmouth Downtown is also conveniently close to lots of restaurants and attractions. Its decor feels freshly updated, and the lobby and breakfast area are spacious, with lots of seats and even a pool table. The gym is small but has brand new equipment. Check-in was quick, and the front desk staff were friendly and professional. It's a very nice place to stay, and I'd come back.

We've had wonderful stays here with our young children, twice now. A pack and play and baby-friendly toiletries were already in our room when we arrived, and the lobby had a sweet holiday gift-wrapping DIY station. The staff are friendly and responsive, and we love this Residence Inn. I'd absolutely recommend it to families wanting a comfortable, walkable stay in Portsmouth.

A good hotel right in the heart of Portsmouth. The building was easy to get around, and the rooms were clean and stocked well. Valet parking is expensive, though there's plenty of street parking around the hotel.

We only stayed one night, but had a great time. The hotel is just steps from downtown and all the attractions, and the service was great. Breakfast was fine. And that Marriott mattress really is hard to beat.

The room was quite spacious and comfortable, and the service was clearly what you'd expect for this kind of hotel. Breakfast was okay, though pretty standard. A great place to stay in Portsmouth.
