Potsdam Inn

A perfect spot for dropping the kids off at college, especially since they’re bound to ask you to pick something up from Walmart. The rooms were clean, the service was very friendly, and the location worked out great.

A clean, somewhat updated single story roadside motel. It did the job for an inexpensive overnight stay.

The beds were the one real downside, super cheap and uncomfortable. Cheap rates or not, a decent mattress and good linens should be standard. Still, I had a good stay and hope the beds are different when we return. I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s locally owned, the rooms and grounds are very clean, and the office staff are pleasant. Coffee and muffins were available for breakfast. The rooms are dated in the linens and TV, but well maintained.

I’ve stayed here before and will probably come back next time I’m in Potsdam. This visit was a good experience overall. My room was tidy, simple, and welcoming, and the refrigerator and microwave worked well. Everything was very clean apart from the air conditioner, where the vent looked like it might have mold growing. I asked to switch to a room with a clean air conditioner, and the owner was accommodating and moved me next door. Hot coffee and big muffins were available in the office each morning.
