When I first stayed, I had to change rooms three times before finding one with working AC, a toilet, and a TV. The first room also had the biggest cockroaches I've ever seen, so check a room carefully before settling in. Later, I stayed for three nights with my elderly mother and dog, left, then returned for a few more nights. They put us in the same room, still dirty and not turned over at all. I didn't complain then. They said it was because we'd left a suitcase, my mom's old one after I bought her a new one, since she thought someone might use it rather than have it thrown away. I guess that's their policy, not to turn over a room for 24 hours if something's left behind. I've never heard of that, and I travel for a living. They also kept my first $100 deposit and took another, leaving $200 pending on my card. Three days into the second stay, and the day after I left, both were still pending. I called to complain and one deposit was refunded within an hour, which was odd timing. The next day I called about the other one. A rude woman told me to talk to the manager, who was supposedly unavailable in a meeting. The older male manager was polite, especially given the property's condition. He said they'd charged another $75 for my dog because I hadn't told them at check-in. That's funny, because I checked in with the dog and told them he was a service animal with paperwork. They never asked to see it, but after I complained they tried to take $75. I'm staying at the BAYMONT in DAYTONA now, where they did ask for the dog's paperwork, I gave it to them, and there was no problem. At this location, extending a stay by checking out and back in the same day means they take another deposit while holding the first for days. Do that repeatedly and you could have that many deposits tied up. I also paid a deposit by credit card.
