On 1/25/26 during the ice storm, this was the only motel or hotel in town with electricity. I was told the price would be $80 plus a $10 pet deposit. When I arrived an hour later, a woman took my ID and said it would be $245 plus tax. My friend was staying there too because she had no power, and she paid $109 Saturday and $109 Sunday morning. This is unacceptable when people are just trying to stay warm in a difficult situation. I asked for one night at the $80 price, plus the $10 pet fee. I didn't ask for two nights. Then I was told I was being charged for two nights. You're a liar, and this is price gouging. Be aware of this place. God's people don't price gouge people in distress or disaster!

There was a pill and a chicken bone under the dresser, someone else's clothes inside it, and old coffee left in the pot. The floor had an iron mark and the shower wasn't clean. I wouldn't stay here if I had any other choice.

My brother and I spent the weekend here, and the owners were as kind as could be. They're honest, hardworking, and clearly take pride in the little paradise they've built. We thought the place was amazing. If we play golf in Jacksonville again, we'll definitely stay at the Home Place Inn!

I stay here every time I work in Jacksonville and will keep coming back as long as they're around. The rooms and prices are great, and the owners put a lot of care into making the place comfortable. The people here really look out for your comfort and well-being when you're away from home. I couldn't be happier with their effort.

Absolutely disgusting. I spent the night and made the mistake of not checking the bed first. When I woke up and pulled back the sheets to look for my key, I saw this. I can overlook the roaches, but this?! One mark is just stains, I hope the other is dried blood. For $90.85 after taxes, I expected better. I told the manager, and all they cared about was the key.
