Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Prairie du Chien

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the mattresses were pretty comfortable, though the pillows left a lot to be desired. The hotel and grounds were clean but dated. Our room had old, shaky bunk beds, and none of the kids wanted the top bunk, so we put its mattress on the floor and made do. The pool was packed. As the day went on, the water got cloudier and the chlorine smell became awful. Kids and other guests started coughing and getting irritated skin. Staff repeatedly cleaned out a trap bucket with some unknown substance and hosed down the walkways. I'd check the water before using the water park. The hotel has a restaurant and a small water park attached, and we'd definitely come back.

We paid about $100 USD before tax for a weekday in late September 2025. Breakfast was included, with hot choices like omelets, sausage and french toast, plus a waffle maker, bread, cereal, yogurt, juices and more. It was all kept clean and well stocked. The same building has a restaurant, which was handy, and hotel guests can use the nice-looking pool and waterslide. Public passes are available to buy too. WiFi was very fast, at 96 mbps download and 20 mbps upload. One problem: the tub in room 112 wouldn't hold water.

I called to ask about a room with a Jacuzzi and a king bed. The person at reception hung up on me, and when I immediately called back to book, no one answered. Business must be good. I stayed at American inn instead, and it was very nice.

The beds were good and the place was really clean, with the amenities I like. Breakfast might've had a few more choices, though I was there on a weekday after the weekend, so maybe it was just the timing. I'll definitely go back.
