Windsor Place Inn

The location was hard to beat, right by a gas station, stores, and everything else. Our room was spacious and clean, and the service was amazing. Great prices, too. This was one of my best stays anywhere, and I’d definitely urge everyone to stay here. You won’t regret it!

The rooms are dated, but they’re roomy and comfortable. I was there in January during the off season, and it was quiet with few guests. They seem to be trying to keep the place nice, though they aren’t investing much in it. Breakfast was a little sad: juice, coffee, cereal, and waffles. With so few people staying, I can see why they didn’t put out a bigger spread. You get what you pay for.

The pool area was being used for storage, and its heater was out. Carpet near the soda machine was soaked from a leaking ice machine. Around the room and bathroom, there was duct tape holding a transition corner, unfinished paint, a barely working exhaust fan that might mean mold from the steamy shower, and missing electrical wall plates. The pictures are not up to date, and the place seems neglected or under construction. The front desk staff weren’t friendly. We paid over $90 for a king room.

On my first visit to the Prairie Du Chien area, I really enjoyed the hotel’s hospitality. The customer service was great, everyone was friendly, and the location is great for a stay. A must-stay hotel. Thanks!
