La Quinta Inn & Suites Prattville

We keep coming back and have stayed here several times over the past eight years. Staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and when our shower gave us trouble this visit, they gladly moved us to another room. The rooms are clean and don’t feel crowded. There’s also an outdoor pool and a pet area with waste bags. Breakfast has plenty to choose from, including hot food, coffee, juice, waffles you make yourself, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, boiled eggs, toast, bagels, English muffins, and sweet muffins. The hotel is at exit 181 off I-65 in Prattville, handy for Montgomery, Millbrook, and Maxwell AFB.

Everything about the hotel worked for us except the beds. We changed king rooms twice during our five nights and six days, but every mattress was painfully hard, with springs you could feel. I struggled to sleep through the night and woke up more sore than after a hard day of work. If you’re in town working and need to recover for the next day, the beds are a real problem. The rest of the place is updated and clean, with big TVs, a well-lit parking lot, and a great breakfast. We booked through priceline.

The pool looked spotless and so inviting, though I didn’t have time to swim. I also liked the breakfast and the well-equipped fitness room. Staff provided excellent service, and the rooms were quiet, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of places to eat nearby. This is the most beautiful La Quinta I’ve seen, inside and out. Management clearly cares about the property. I highly recommend it.

The location right off the expressway is handy, and the hotel itself is nice. My rating mostly comes down to the room odor, which reminded me of an old, dirty bucket of Lysol or cleaning solution. Also, one of the bathroom outlets didn’t work.
