House in the pines really does feel like a home away from home. There’s refrigerator space for your food and a pantry area if you want to cook, plus Jodee puts together a wonderful breakfast every morning. The beds are comfortable and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. It works just as well for a day as for a week, and the breakfast compares with what many hotels charging nearly twice as much offer.

I asked one of the guests how his stay was and whether he had any pros or cons. He told me he had no cons, and called it the most respectful, peaceful place he’d ever been. Akasha is such a kind, loving person, and as manager she brings light to the whole space. I’m grateful I walked into the hip hostel, where travelers from around the world meet while enjoying Prescott. I’m starting to feel like part of the family here. Inspiration really does lead to more inspiration!

The place looked nothing like the pictures online. When I arrived, there was a shirtless man in the room I was supposed to stay in, and I didn’t feel comfortable checking in. They said they’d refund me, but it’s been two weeks and they haven’t sent the money or answered the phone.

It was a very healing stay, and I’m grateful the Pines staff let me spend time in their space. The Pines Hostel feels more like a healing place to stay while going through a transition. The people working there are welcoming and friendly, and everything is bright, cheerful, and CLEAN. People come and go, and life keeps moving, but here you can slow down, breathe, and get ready for the next step. Gladys M.

This was my second visit in two months, and it gets better every time. The staff are great, the atmosphere is laid-back, and there are good times and a delicious free breakfast every day. I got along with everyone, though Roger was a favorite. He’s unique, from Saudi Arabia, well educated, and a successful businessman. Meeting people like Roger at the hostel in the pines was a real treat. I promise you’ll enjoy your visit at the house in the Pines Hostel. Sam D.
