Getting to Canal Park takes a bit of a drive, though there are convenience stores nearby. We had a good stay overall. The staff made every interaction pleasant, breakfast had plenty of choices, and they kept cleaning and refilling things. The pool and spa area was clean and nice, and the coupon for the adjoining restaurant was a great perk. My only real gripes were the very firm mattress and the badly stained carpet on some stairs.

It’s a little out of town, but the price was right and the drive in was quick and easy. We brought our pet, and the pet area always had baggies stocked. Breakfast was plentiful and good. We didn’t try the pool, though it looked well maintained.

We had a family vacation here, and the clean rooms, free breakfast, and great pool and hot tub worked well for the kids. At check-in, the staff couldn’t confirm which rooms were pet friendly. We were assigned a non-pet room because of allergies, so that seemed odd. The hotel connects to Black Woods, which was excellent, and it’s about 15 minutes from Duluth, including the lift bridge and Canal Park. We’d definitely go again.

Breakfast was amazing, and we really liked the restaurant and bar. The staff were friendly too. Our room was great, though the shower was so tiny I could barely turn around, and the bathroom was literally about two feet from my side of the bed. I’d stay again.

The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was such a treat that we ate our fill each morning. We had to ask to change rooms because the first one felt dirty, the shower was extremely moldy, and the door was coming off its hinges. They happily moved us. The second room was in better shape, but there was still mold in the shower and sink, and neither of us felt comfortable showering. It may have just been the rooms we got, but we wouldn’t return.
